Cork County Council: Heritage Videos

Cork County Council’s Heritage Office, over the past number of years, has led on a number of different video productions relating to many aspects of heritage: built, cultural and natural. This post, contains in the one source, the complete range of video productions undertaken, and these are now set out.

8. Care of and Cleaning Historic Headstones
This is a short video on the Care of and Cleaning Historic Headstones. Produced by the Historic Monuments Advisory Committee (HMAC) of Cork County Council. It provides useful information on caring for and clean historic headstones in accordance with good conservation practice. It complements the advisory leaflet Care of and Cleaning Historic Headstones. 9. Care of Historic Ruins
Do you have a ruin that you own or within the community that needs work to ensure its long term survival and need help to get you started? The Historic Monuments Advisory Committee (HMAC) of Cork County Council have produced this short video on how to care for a historic ruined building – be it a castle, an old church or an old farm building. It provides succinct practical information in accordance with best conservation practice. It complements the advisory leaflet, Care of Historic Ruins. 10. Cork School Gardens Competition Promotional Video
The Cork School Gardens Competition is an initiative of the Cork Federation of Muintir na Tíre and supported by Cork County Council, Cork City and Council and Griffins Garden Centre, Dripsey. While the competition did not take place in 2020 due to Covid-19 a promotional video has been undertaken, with support from the Creative Ireland Programme, to highlight the competition and to encourage schools to get involved.
